Notice 019/2015 TO: VIRGIN MEMBERS RE: PART TIME DECISION
The ALAEA and Virgin have now had an opportunity to discuss the ramifications of the decision from the Fair Work Commission. Virgin advised us that in line with the decision, that they would now re-calculate the wages for all part time Engineers, so that they were paid overtimes rates from the period that the change was made until now, the same way as they had calculated overtime previously.
Notice 18/2015 TO: QANTAS TSS MEMBERS RE: DUTY TRAVEL
This notice is being issued to update members on a current dispute regarding travel allowances and the calculation of travel time for those of you who are employed under the TSS Enterprise Agreement.

Members should read and become aware of a few matters of importance to all LAMEs working at Qantas. I will attach below the words sent today to Sandra Nieuwenhuijzen which should be seen as advice we believe all members should be following until otherwise informed. Last week the AEC declared Chris Tamblyn as the newly elected Councillor to replace Mike Watson at Virgin and Bob Toovey elected to fill the vacant Qantas Aligned Regional Airlines position. No candidate stood for the Regional Airlines Councillor.

Members are advised the in relation to the attached representational rights notice/letter to engineers distributed by CHC management by email on 13 February 2015, the following;
– Notice 006/2015 TO: QANTAS LAME MEMBERS RE: RDO/20th DAY PAYOUTS – UNDOCUMENTED DEFECTS
On Friday afternoon Qantas issued a notice to all staff offering the ability to apply to have 20th days that are held in your balance to be paid out. The notice explains that the offer is open until March 9th and contains an authority form that needs to be signed including an explanation sheet that confirms that anyone who signs the form understands that the days will be paid only at your base rate (single time).
