Dear Members,
As many of you are aware, the ALAEA has undergone a significant period of transformation in recent months. These changes are part of our long-term goal to strengthen the organisation and ensure that every LAME feels proud to be a member of their professional association.
As we transition to a model that focuses squarely on delivering the high-quality services and representation our members deserve, the ALAEA Federal Executive has undertaken a detailed review of our financial and operational resourcing. Following this review, and after careful consideration, the Executive has made the difficult decision to implement a small increase to membership fees, effective 1 January 2026 and 1 January 2027.
The approved annual increases are as follows:
- GA members: +$0.50 per week
- Jetstar members: +$2.00 per week
- Network members: +$2.00 per week
- Other members: +$1.00 per week
Please note: The $2.00 per week increase for Jetstar members is designed to bring their fees into alignment with members from other major airlines.
We understand that any fee increase can cause concern, and this decision was not made lightly. However, these adjustments are essential to expanding our industrial, legal, and administrative capacity, ensuring we can provide timely, effective, and expert support to every member—whenever they need it.
The Federal Executive remains committed to transparency throughout this process and will provide further updates as our transformation progresses. We thank all members for their ongoing support and engagement as we continue building a stronger, more capable ALAEA for the future.
