Dear ALAEA Representatives,
I write to advise you that the ALAEA has tasked me with the responsibility of “workplace mapping”. Workplace mapping – or “mapping” as it is known, in its simplest form, is a process of identifying who is who in your workplace and how many.
The ALAEA is focused on improving communication and engagement in the LAME workplaces across Australia. It is fundamentally important we have accurate contact information for those in the respective work areas. Please note that the ALAEA treats the security and confidentiality of members details very seriously.
The ALAEA Executive is also in the process of re-writing the ‘Rules’ that govern the Association. Included in these rule changes is the need to consider the appropriate Executive Councilor representation for the many varied workplaces that we represent. This process is an important piece to ensure our rules best serve the members.
Once we have a clearer understanding of our membership profile, we also hope to initiate organising/recruitment drives, with a view to growing the ALAEA, to better serve the needs of our members coupled with enhancing the strength and sustainability of our industry.
Course participants from the Advanced Reps Course last month have begun mapping and we are encouraged by their results.
Over the next few weeks and post Easter, I will be contacting ALAEA reps to ask for your assistance with this mapping.
In the meantime, anyone that wants to ask any questions can contact me via email brads@alaea.asn.au
