Dear Members,
It is with great sadness that I write to you today to inform you of the passing of one of our brothers, David Forwood.
Dave was a respected and much-loved member of the Toll Helicopters Engineering team. His workmates have asked me to share these words about their friend and colleague with you all:
‘Dave was a valued member of the Toll Helicopters engineering team and came to us after spending many years at Heliflite. We are sure they must have been annoyed when he left them to come to us. He started with us during Covid lockdowns and has been with us five years until he unexpectedly passed away. In that time, he became good friends with all of us. He was an awesome LAME, a good bloke and well-liked by everyone. He was always the first to pick up tools, and to our frustration at knock off time he was always the last to return them, which provided us with much ammunition for some friendly banter. When it was time to get your hands dirty and do some engine maintenance, he was like a pig in mud. He also spoke very fondly of his time working on Robbie’s. Dave was selfless and always happy to help anyone whenever required. Dave will be sorely missed, and our hearts go out to his Wife and 2 young daughters in this extremely difficult time.’
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, loved ones, and all who had the privilege of knowing him, during this difficult time.
I do not have details regarding his funeral or memorial service, but I will share any updates as soon as they become available.
