Dear Members,
You may be aware that the general election for the Federal Executive of the ALAEA is scheduled to take place in the first half of this year. You may also have heard that the Executive has been considering certain administrative amendments to the ALAEA Rules that could change the composition of the Federal Executive and the way members of the Federal Executive are elected.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to finalise any amendments to the Rules before the election process commences. As a result, the upcoming election will be conducted in accordance with the current Rules and established protocols.
Financial members of the ALAEA should expect to receive information regarding the election from the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) in the coming weeks.
